The jobs support scheme was introduced during the COVID 19 pandemic to assist companies to offset their employee’s wages. As of 17th August 2020, the jobs support scheme will be further extended to give continued support for workers and jobs.

The jobs support scheme will now be extended for a further 7 months running from September 2020 to March 2021. There will be an adjustment to the support levels also.

Tier 1: 50%, down from 75% (Aerospace, aviation, tourism sectors)

Tier 2: 30%, down from 50% (Arts and entertainment, food services, land transport, marine and offshore, and retail sectors)

Tier 3A: 10%, down from 25% (For the large majority of the remaining sectors)

Tier 3B: 10% (till December 2020), down from 25% (For the few sectors that are managing well, such as biomedical sciences, financial services, and ICT sectors)

The payout will be made in March 2021 and June 2021.

All employers who have made mandatory CPF contributions for their local employees (Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents) will qualify for the payout. Employers in the employer exclusion list are not eligible for the JSS. No application is required.
